Preslie Survived, Lukas did not
I just came from a funeral of a child (Lukas) who was 19 months old. It was a beautiful service but very heart breaking. I never knew him but I met the grandmother (Kelly) and the dad (Logan) at the hospital who both came up to me and Preslie and Kelly told me that she had been following Preslie’s page and were so excited to meet her. They still hung on to hope that Lukas would make it but he was on life support and had no neurological activity when we met them. He had climbed through a doggie door and drowned in their pool. Wow! Even on the worse day of their lives, they both remembered me and asked how Preslie was doing and were able to smile with the update and BOTH said they would love to see her again... the dad even stated how inspired he was by her strength. Seeing that tiny casket was so sad. I felt compelled to go to show my respect and support them in their time of grief. I’m not sure if seeing Preslie would help them or just cause them pain but they seemed so sincere. I spoke to both of them at different times and it was as if they were pleading with me to be able to see her, as if it would truly bring them so much joy. They probably feel so empty and I know are filled with so much grief but for both of them to ask... perhaps it would be helpful in healing their grief. The way Preslie reached her hand out to Kelly at the hospital and just held her hand when we were summoned by the nurse to come back upstairs was so precious and seemed very spiritual. I had hoped it meant that Lukas would be okay but now know she had a sense that Lukas had already gone to heaven and was with those who had already departed to the afterlife that awaits us all and is filling them with joy. I suppose the heavens above need children as well... I’m just so thankful that Preslie was chosen to remain here on earth to continue to bring us joy. Preslie is destined to bring endless others joy as well... even Logan & Kelly. I need to bring everybody up to speed on how God intervened to spared my 3 year old granddaughter’s life!!
